The Two Greatest Speeches Ever Given By Robert F. Kennedy

Given the recent problems in our nation where gunman have or killed many people,  it’s so important to listen again to the two greatest speeches ever given by Robert F. Kennedy on senseless acts violence.  Sadly this  still rings true in our time today.  Please view and listen to each below as his words are still timeless:

This to me is his greatest speech in the wake of the murder of Martin Luther King Jr, facing an African American  crowd who was unaware of the killing which had just took place, Robert Kennedy gives this beautiful unscripted speech about violence in this country.

That night there were no riots reported in the area where Robert Kennedy gave this speech.  Even though all across the country there were riots in every major city.  Robert Kennedy’s authority to give such a meaningful speech comes from his place in history at the side of his slain brother the 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy in 1963.  This tragedy gave Robert a voice for the those who felt they have been treated unfairly by this nation.  Very few though, have lost someone in the cause of this fight, so when the African Americans felt they have lost their leader in Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy knew too well that hurt and was able to communicate that so perfectly within this speech.  To me, these two speeches are the greatest ever given.  Only Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address or Martin Luther King’s I have a Dream speech come close to these simple words that Robert Kennedy spoke in 1968.   His dream of a better world would also be cut short by an assassin’s bullet only a few month’s later.  The world has never seen a politician like him since.
