I purchased this Reliable Electric 12v  500 watt pure sine wave power inverter off eBay for around $85 dollars. It was the 12v to 120 volt 500 watt model RBP-500s. I wanted this inverter to power sixteen 23 watt CFL grow lights for my off-grid Aquaponics system.

The Power inverter worked perfectly and has never given me a moments trouble. When powering CFL lights, a sine wave power inverter is required and recommended instead of the modified wave inverter. The sine wave replicates the exact 60HZ frequency which flows through your residential USA electric current.

The power inverter produced a constant 120 volts AC output to power my lights at 60HZ. It was very quiet and didn’t generate the excessive heat I was expecting. As long as my batteries where supplying the inverter’s terminals with 10 to 15 VDC volts, the 500w Power inverter was giving me a steady usable stream of 120volts AC. I really like the digital read outs too for both the AC output and the input DC from my battery bank. All and all this has been a well made wonderful 500w power inverter.   I have no regrets purchasing it.
